In February 2014 I went to India on a mission trip. This blog talks about the storms that I went through to get there and the mountains that were moved so that I could go. Ending with my experience there. Feel free to leave comments as you join me on a journey of a lifetime. Have a blessed day, week and year. Remember through Faith and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ all things are possible.

Blessings

Want to be blessed? Be a tither!
Genesis 14:18-20 "And Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of God Most High, brought Abram some bread and wine. Melchizedek blessed Abram with his blessing: 'Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And blessed be God Most High, who has defeated your enemies for you.' Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the goods he had recovered."

This verse hit me. Abraham was the first person in the bible to tithe. I've heard this before Pastor Paul has talked about it and so has Pastor John. Today it just made even more sense though. We cry out to God all the time for a blessing asking and asking and asking yet we never give. God isn't asking for a lot form us just 10%. Think about it 10% is not really all that much. But remember you don't give it grudgingly. Nobody wants a gift that is giving grudgingly. Gifts are giving freely and from the heart. Abraham wasn't told to give to Melchizedek, he did it freely from the heart and he was blessed for it. God gave him the ultimate blessing. (This is the part that got me) God blessed him with a child. For Abraham that was the best blessing God could of ever given him.

What is it you are asking God for today? Have you given of yourself? Your first 10%, maybe you don't have an income but what about your time? What is the first 10% of your day spent doing? Did you give it to God? I've been bad at this. However this year I accepted a challenge. The first part of each of my day is going to be dedicated to God. My first post on Facebook will be what I got from God this morning while spending time with him
